dragon01.gif (583 bytes) candl[1].gif (2893 bytes)You enter a warm room lit by candle light. By the flickering glow you can make out many books piled against the walls. Snuggled up in the corner on many tasselled cushions, reading, you see the Snork Maiden. You're just about to sneak away when she catches sight of you.

"This is my library," she says, "there are the BEST books here.....bla, bla, bla.......you just HAVE to read it...."

Just before you flee you find the Snork Maiden's recommendations have been welded into your brain.

Must Reads (no particular order)

Terry Prattchet - mainly the discworld chronicles, hilariously funny books set on another planet (the discworld) which is flat, stands on four elephants which are carried through space on the great A'tuin (a turtle) and set in medieval times.

Gillian Rubenstine - science fiction mainly, Galaxarena, Foxspell and Space Demons are some of the best. They are very exciting and filled with dark  action. Gillian Rubenstine is an Australian author which I have been fortunate enough to speak with.

Robin Jarvis - the Deptford Mice Trilogy is really good. Even though it's about cute little micies, don't be fooled you never can tell just when one's about to be ripped apart and have it's ears fried (nice and crispy) by hungry rats.

Douglas Adams - This guy is so funny! Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy is his most well known but the others are great too. He has a game out (with which I'm still struggling) called Starship Titanic . The graphics and actual intelligence of the game are 'titanic' (ha ha). Dammit! Those pesky little dragonflies! Always getting under my feet! Now where was I? Ah yes.....

Tove Jansson - A really adorable series, I really don't known why I've put it down because it's aimed 8 year olds but I've loved it since then, the Moomintroll series and his adventures with Sniff, Snufkin, the Hemulen, Snork, Snork Maiden and (how could I forget) the Hattifatteners!
